Proud to be a Jamaican
I decided to base my poster on Damian Marley. I gave him the name 'Prince of Reggae' given that his dad was the 'King', Bob Marley. I tried using a combination of bright coloured tones, soft greys and black, causing the colours to be more intense towards the centre of the poster, and growing to greys and blacks tones reaching the posters edges. My aim was to produce a poster that would stand out, be different and that would draw the audiences eyes to it.
Theres a variation of images of the singer, these images are placed following the idea of symmetry. The quote used, is from one of his songs, I believe It's positive and states a strong and clear message. This quote also directly links to the brief, my poster celebrates and represents the greatness of Jamaican music.
I used an explosion of colour to place behind the signer, I then used 'Reggae' themed smoke to place behind the signers name. I decided to use the Bold Towne typeface because of its thick strokes and funky bubbly style. To conclude I created my own lion king to represent the strength and power of this family.
