Studio brief 2 - collaborative practice ORCHARD P.I.G



Orchard Pig 
Deliver orchard pig as the craft cider equivalent of contemporary craft beer 
-We want to become the Notorious P.I.G

503- Secret 7

Research:
"Imagine"
Imagine there's no heaven

To create my album cover I chose to use three faces portraying the human race, and their different cultures. Their three faces all have different colour schemes, these represent the different environments across the globe, the faces go light to dark moving from left to right. I chose to make the background black for two reasons, the first was that it would work well representing space surrounding earth, also it is similar to a vinyl record, I believed this would be very popular as it is ambiguous and the viewer can interpret the cover as they choose. The black drops falling from the faces portray the the negativity and hate falling out of the human race leaving only purity, and the coloured drops represent the sadness in the world. Using the lyrics as inspiration, I represented the world uniting as one.

How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran

We would like you to design a new, classic cover for Caitlin Moran's book, How to Be a Woman.
The design needs to feel timeless and classic, whilst at the same time making it clear to the reader that it is very entertaining and often very funny. The book should feel very accessible, immediately ‘pickupable’ and something that exists within the world of Popular Culture. You are welcome to use an image of the author, but do not feel that you need to take that approach.
The ideal design will make us smile, make us want to own a copy of the book, and keep it proudly on our shelves for a long time.

THE CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS 12 NOON ON WEDNESDAY 9 MARCH 2016.
Entries must be supplied in the following format:
  • PDF
  • 300ppi
  • CMYK
  • 5mm bleed
  • Ideally colour managed to ISO Coated 39 or ISO Uncoated 29 (optional)
  • Trim and crop marks to be included
  • Maximum file size 5 meg
Please include the front cover only on the first page of your PDF and a full cover spread (front, spine and back cover) on the second page of your PDF.
