"Imagine"
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
To create my album cover I chose to use three faces
portraying the human race, and their different cultures. Their three faces all
have different colour schemes, these represent the different environments
across the globe, the faces go light to dark moving from left to right. I chose
to make the background black for two reasons, the first was that it would work
well representing space surrounding earth, also it is similar to a vinyl
record, I believed this would be very popular as it is ambiguous and the viewer
can interpret the cover as they choose. The black drops falling from the faces
portray the the negativity and hate falling out of the human race leaving only purity,
and the coloured drops represent the sadness in the world. Using the lyrics as inspiration, I represented the world uniting as one.
